Idle Degen — how it all works

A Melvor-style idle RPG built crypto-native from the ground up: wallet-connect identity, a burn-for-lifetime-access model, on-chain-verifiable prizes, and player-owned cosmetics. This page is the canonical reference — every mechanic, and how to verify the ones that touch money.

Nothing here asks you to trust us. Where a mechanic involves real value — the lottery, the numbered packs — we tell you exactly how to check it yourself. Jump to How to Verify →

Getting Started

  1. Connect a Solana wallet. Your wallet is your account — there's no email, no username, no password.
  2. Burn for lifetime access. A one-time burn of 30,000 $IDLE (amount subject to change) unlocks the full game forever, validated on-chain. No subscription, no recurring cost.
  3. Play. Train skills, fight, run expeditions, earn cosmetics, enter the lottery.

Your wallet address is your permanent, unrecoverable account identity. There is no password reset and no account recovery. If you lose access to your wallet, you lose access to your account. See Wallet = Identity.

Combat

Combat runs on three styles in a rock-paper-scissors relationship — the style you pick is matched against each enemy's style, and the matchup scales your damage. Choosing the right style for a zone matters.

StyleRole
DegenMelee
SniperRanged
QuantMagic

Combat is online-only (it doesn't accrue while you're away). Auto-Eat is always on, so you won't die to a stray hit while managing other things. Zones and dungeons escalate in difficulty; the deeper you push, the tougher it gets — with plenty left to discover.

Skills

Idle Degen is a close mechanical cousin of Melvor Idle with crypto theming layered on top. There are 18 skills, each trained to a max level of 75. Progress is permanent — there's no prestige or reset — and skill bonuses are capped at +75%.

Gathering

  • Woodcutting — fell trees for logs, from normal up to redwood.
  • Mining — break rocks for ore, with the occasional gem.
  • Fishing — catch fish that feed your Cooking.
  • Farming — grow crops and herbs over time.
  • Thieving — pickpocket for coins and materials, at a risk.

Processing

  • Smithing — smelt ore into bars and forge equipment.
  • Cooking — turn raw food into meals that heal you in combat.
  • Fletching — craft bows and ammunition for Ranged.
  • Herblore — brew potions for combat and utility boosts.
  • Runecrafting — craft the runes that power Magic.
  • Crafting — work leather, gems, and materials into gear.

Combat

  • Attack — melee accuracy: how reliably you land hits.
  • Strength — melee damage: how hard you hit.
  • Defence — how much punishment you can absorb.
  • Hitpoints — your health pool.
  • Ranged — accuracy and damage with ranged attacks.
  • Magic — spellcasting for combat and utility.
  • Prayer — unlockable buffs that tilt fights your way.

Expeditions

Expeditions are a push-your-luck layer on top of your skills. You commit materials to a run, it plays out over time, and the further you push, the bigger the potential reward — and the bigger the risk. It's an optional way to spend surplus resources for a shot at more.

Expeditions also feed your lottery tickets for the cycle, so they're one of the ways active players build entries.

Callsigns & Frames

Your callsign is your identity card in the game — a name, a title you've earned, a rarity-tier color scheme, and a frame. Titles unlock through play (total level, bosses defeated, dungeons cleared, and more).

Frames

Frames are individual cosmetic items. You get them the same way as any cosmetic — they appear on rotating drop cycles and can be bought or traded between players. Owning a frame unlocks it for your card. New frames rotate in over time, so keep an eye on what's dropping.

Cosmetics & Marketplace

Cosmetics are purely visual — no cosmetic affects gameplay power. They're individual, tradeable items: bodies, heads, auras, and frames. Mix any head with any body freely in the Wardrobe.

How you get them

Cosmetics drop on a rotating schedule of cycles. Each cycle offers specific pieces (and occasionally a bundle set). Once a cycle passes, its pieces are no longer sold directly — from then on they're only available player-to-player on the marketplace.

The marketplace

Any tradeable item you own can be listed for USDC. A sale flow is: list → a buyer reserves → the buyer pays → the item transfers to them. A treasury fee of 5% applies to each sale, paid by the seller. Numbered items carry their serial with them — if you sell 23/75, the buyer becomes the new owner of 23/75.

Serialized Items

Some pack purchases include serialized collectibles — items with a unique, permanent number drawn from a strictly capped supply. Each number belongs to exactly one owner, ever.

Your number is assigned the moment you buy, stored permanently, and travels with the item on resale — buy a numbered item and that exact number becomes yours. Once a serialized item's supply is exhausted, it's sold out for good — and you can verify that yourself (see below).

The Lottery

Every 72-hour cycle, the prize pool is split among 5 winners. Prizes are paid in SOL, sent directly to winners' wallets. Entry is free — you earn tickets by playing.

How you earn tickets

Tickets are a function of your activity during the cycle — distinct days active, expeditions, fights, and crafts — all server-stamped and clamped so they can't be spoofed by editing a local save. More genuine activity = more tickets = better odds.

How winners are chosen

The draw is a weighted random selection: every ticket is a chance, and 5 distinct wallets are drawn per cycle. A wallet can win at most once in a given cycle, but can absolutely win again in future cycles.

Anti-cheat

Activity metrics are capped at the physical maximum the game can produce in 72 hours. Winners whose metrics sit near those impossible-to-reach-honestly ceilings are held for a manual review before payout — this never removes a legitimate player from the draw, it only adds a human check on statistically impossible outliers.

Tokenomics

  • Access burn: a one-time 30,000 $IDLE (subject to change) burn for lifetime access. Burned supply is gone forever — validated on-chain.
  • Real-money flows use USDC on Solana: pack purchases and marketplace trades.
  • Prizes: the lottery pays in SOL.
  • Treasury: marketplace fees flow to the treasury GX89xsdR7Gv9WD7NvzsLvcpjUzLQTdDKmhaefs9dceEo.
  • No play-to-earn. There are no earnable, sellable in-game tokens — this is a game with real prizes and real ownership, not a yield scheme.

How to Verify

The whole point. Here's how to check the money mechanics yourself, no trust required.

The lottery is provably fair

The payout wallet is public. Every prize is a real on-chain transaction you can inspect on Solscan.

payout wallet: Bs5MLz4pSQVmuLju2742HAYBF8xLB1fMoBmqQ4sWP9HE
  • Watch the pool grow (the wallet's balance).
  • After each 72h cycle, see 5 outgoing transactions — the 5 winners, split by position.
  • Every payout row has a transaction signature; paste it into Solscan to confirm the amount and recipient.

Serialized items are provable

Supply caps are enforced atomically at the database level — the count can't be raced past the cap, and every number is unique and permanent. Sold-out means sold-out: a fact, not a promise.

check remaining: the in-game pack screen shows live supply.

Every number is recorded per-wallet and honored on the marketplace — buy a numbered item and that exact number becomes yours, permanently. No dupes, no disputes.

Access burns are on-chain

Lifetime access is granted only after your burn transaction is verified on-chain against the official $IDLE token and the required amount. You can confirm your own burn any time in your wallet's transaction history.

Wallet = Identity

This is the single most important thing to understand, so we're saying it plainly:

  • Your wallet address is your account. Permanently.
  • There is no email, no password, and no recovery path.
  • If you lose your wallet's keys, your account and everything in it is gone. We cannot restore it — by design, we don't hold custody of anything.
  • Protect your seed phrase like it's the account, because it is.

FAQ

Is this play-to-earn?

No. There's no farmable, sellable token. You can win real prizes (the lottery) and own real tradeable cosmetics, but the game isn't a yield mechanism.

Do cosmetics or packs make me stronger?

No. Everything cosmetic is purely visual. Power comes only from playing.

Do I have to pay to play?

Access is a one-time burn — no subscription. Packs and the marketplace are optional.

Can I get my number back if I sell a serialized item and regret it?

Only by buying it back on the marketplace — numbers are permanent and travel with the item to whoever owns it. Any bonus trait bundled with a numbered item is tradeable too.

What happens if a lottery payout is delayed?

Occasionally a payout is held for a manual review (statistical outlier) or a network hiccup. It resolves within 24h — the draw result stands and the win is recorded.

Where's the community?

No Discord. Announcements and patch notes come through X and the in-game Devlog, and the social side lives in the in-game chat — being online is how you connect with other players. For direct help, email us (below).
